Simply stated…”there’s no place like house”.  The boys (Jeremy, Stuart, and Dwayne) bring something to central Kentucky which is truly unique and something to experience. Although house at the simplest form is a retail store, it offers to their clients a world of opportunities.

Inexpensive designer silk floral arrangements, affordable gifts, classic and updated home decor, memorable wedding and event fresh floral designs, custom window treatments, and reupholstery are only start of what they bring to the table!

We could tell you about all of our bells and whistles, but the best thing for you to do, is to come in and see what all of the fuss is about!

house history:

house is the dream child of “the boy’s” (Jeremy Rice, J. Stuart Hurt, and Dwayne Anderson).  Upon opening in March 2010, house immediately started making it’s stamp and signature style known in Lexington.  Presenting traditional elements in an untraditional setting, was the absolute perfect match for both “the boys” and house.  Focusing on silk floral arrangements and home accessories for the home, the boys have proven that unexpected and traditional can go hand in hand.

If one thing is known for sure, it is that house is ever evolving.  It changes seasonally, as well as weekly!

jeremy rice

Jeremy graduated from EKU in 2004 with a BS in Apparel Design and Visual Merchandising.  From a young age, he was always interested in interior design, furniture, flowers, and shall we say…CHRISTMAS!!!!!

He loves people and loves interacting with them.  His favorite thing to do is create over the top floral arrangements and Christmas designs to wow customers!  He likes to call them “not yo’ momma’s Christmas!”

TRUE FACT: Jeremy always sees a clock at 11:11 at least once a day, and always makes a wish.  No comment on whether any of them have ever come true. : )

Stuart graduated from UK with a BA in Interior Design.  Received his State Certification in Interior Design in 2006 and is an active member of IIDA (International Interior Design Association)

Stuart immerses himself in the passions of his clients and close friends, as well as is very involved in giving back to the community .
TRUE FACT: Stuart actually started his career early in life by watching his father build and remodel their family homes, paying attention to the detail and careful steps it took.  his mother also catapulted his creativity through her encouragement and willingness to give him carte blanche in his childhood rooms and homes.

dwayne anderson

Dwayne graduated from Pikeville College with a BS in Accounting and Finance.

Upon graduating, he and his beautiful wife Kathy (high school sweet hearts) moved to Lexington and opened a successful home accessory store.  Many of his clients to this day have followed him from the moment they walked over his threshold at Lexington Mall over 20 years ago.

With an eye for detail, and immediate on the spot design concepts, Dwayne has been in hundreds of homes over the last 20 years, creating life long clients along the way.

Today Dwayne and Kathy live in Paris, with their two children Ian and Chloe, in a beautiful home among horse farms.

TRUE FACT: While in college, Dwayne coordinated a Toga party, of which included an “Olive Eating Contest.” To this day, Dwayne can NOT eat olives.
