  2. WOW – not “like” – LOVE!! (and I thought I was way ahead of schedule simply searching for Christmas posts!) How long have you been at it?

It has always been a distant dream to own a Christmas shop (not a great idea – given my ADD Poster Girl challenges with stuff & stuff management, retail would probably kill me – but it sure looks like FUN!)

When I lived in a *much* bigger house (vs. my way-too-small apt. now), I believe I outdid Macy’s at 34th with my decorations: 5 big trees (entry, office, LR, bedroom, breakfast room), smaller trees in 2 bathrooms and halls, medium-sized in kitchen and on wrap-around porch — all themed (artificial, of course – not possible with live trees, since I also had to work and sleep, so had to start Nov 1, pedal to the metal)

THEN there were all my collections: sleighs, Santas, (including Annalee 8 tiny reindeer & sleigh & Santa – and I STOCKED that sleigh with a tree and tiny presents – some tiny somebody was even getting a computer!) — oh yeah, candles, stockings, Byers Carolers, decorated garlands over every door & on 3 mantles, decorated wreaths on every door, electric candles in the windows, and a bunch of imaginary presents all for ME (empty boxes, beautifully wrapped – imagination fodder each year – under the trees, on mantles – I think you get the idea that I’m a Christmas NUT)

I had a BALL. I’ve been an elf for YEARS – a great many of my decorations I made myself, more and more each year, adhering to a a strict budget.

The problem, of course, was taking it all DOWN. (in your own house, who says you can’t still have Christmas at Easter? lol or beyond – way beyond?)

Your photos are incredible (my photos barely impress ME, and would worry anyone else). AMAZING job. Thanks so much for sharing.

NOW, where did I put my Christmas music – I usually wait for Thanksgiving and then play my huge & varied collection non-stop thru 12th Nite, but I think you put me in the mood for it NOW (maybe the candles too?)

    Look what you started!

  3. Whoa – JUST noticed that you’re in Lexington. Don’t know how the holidays will turn out, work and time-wise, but I’m in Cincinnati currently. hmmmmmm . . . Don’t be too surprised if I pay you a visit LIVE. I’d love to see this in person.
